if someone could explain to me how to take a font/ text sentence and put it into sai, PLEASE let me know.
SAI does not have text options. It"s primarily a simple painting program so it doesn"t offer text options, filters, etc. (most things that Photoshop would offer).
If you need text added to your comic, you"ll need to use a program that has it like Photoshop, Clip Studio Paint, or GIMP. You can still draw your comic in SAI, but you"ll either have to hand write your text (which is a viable option, lots of people do it, it"s just a bit more time consuming), or save your file as a transferable format (I do .PSD for example, because you can open PSD in most functioning drawing programs) and move it to GIMP/Photoshop/Clip Studio Paint/whatever drawing software you can use that offers text tools and do so there.
I used to be in the same boat, I used Photoshop CS6 for my paneling, text, basically everything SAI couldn"t do as well (if not at all). I"ve since moved to Clip Studio Paint and do most of my work there, save for some texturing that I still use SAI for
But that"s just personal preference ^ ^"
UzukiCheverie is right, but you can add text the roundabout way by opening a word processor that uses your font (like, word is best) and formatting the text there, then screenshotting it (best to use the snippet tool or sth similar, less cropping required). make sure you format it with black text on white
if you paste this into your image, then go to layer > luminescence to transparency, the white background will disappear. from there you can change the colour using a clipping group layer.
The rumored beta of Sai 2 was supposed to have a text option, and other nice features. But the original Sai doesn"t have that.
In which you will be forced to just draw a comic page with blank speech bubbles. Then save the file and open it in a different program to add text. Really just go with that option instead of doing everything in Sai. It"s not worth the extra work/frustration.
Paint is the simplest option, but it"s a bit tedious. My recommendaion would be PhotoScape. It"s an easy, free to use photo editing program, that has a very nice text-adding option that I simply can"t imagine my comic pages without it X3And it has many more cool features too.
do you have stroke option in sai?bcs if you do .you can make a circle or a square(if you have any of those options"and afterwards add stroke to themofc you will need a lasso tool so you can make the pointers. and then you use stroke option. which is somewhere in edit i think
I use a program called Comic Life3 for now. I am still learning Clip Studio Pro. It saves me a lot and seems to have what I am missing. Cheaper that Photoshop too.
I use sai, so I open word, copy the dialogue, go to paste special, click on Microsoft word document object, then copy the object to clipboard, and then it allows you to paste on SAI
